Management of Purposes and Partner Descriptions
Management of Purposes and Partner Descriptions
It may happen that you wish to modify the description of a partner (Vendor) or the texts of the purposes displayed in your CMP. The possibility of making these modifications depends on the regulatory framework (IAB TCF) and the type of partner concerned.
1. Banner texts and TCF compliance
The texts displayed in the CMP (purpose titles, legal descriptions of processing, buttons) are subject to strict protocols.
Mandatory texts (Standard UI): Descriptions of purposes and features are standardized by the IAB TCF Framework and validated by Google. They have been submitted to the competent authorities to ensure the compliance and certification of the CMP. These texts cannot be modified. Every word has been legally validated.
Authorized customization: You can only modify the additional descriptive text (usually displayed above the choices or as an introduction). This is the ideal place to add your editorial touch without altering the legal compliance of the technical definitions.
2. IAB TCF Vendor Information
For partners registered with the IAB TCF (e.g., Google, Prisma Media, Xandr, etc.), the information displayed in the CMP is automated.
Data Source The descriptions of processing, declared purposes, links to privacy policies, and legal bases come directly from IAB Europe's Global Vendor List (GVL).
Automatic Synchronization: The Sirdata CMP updates this information daily from the official list.
Vendor Responsibility: The partner itself enters and maintains its information via the IAB member interface.
Can the description of an IAB Vendor be modified?
No. Sirdata has neither the technical control nor the legal responsibility to modify the description or purposes of a third-party vendor registered with the TCF. It is not possible for us to add a description on behalf of a vendor.
What to do if a partner's information appears incorrect? If a partner (e.g., an ad network or a third-party publisher) does not display the expected purposes in your CMP:
CMP Configuration Check: First, ensure that the relevant purposes are correctly activated in your Sirdata configuration on the abconsent portal. If a purpose is unchecked in your configuration, it will not appear for the vendor, even if they have declared it. Check here: Configuration > Purposes
Action with the Partner: If your configuration is correct, the client must directly contact the partner (DPO or the vendor's technical contact). The vendor must check its declaration on the IAB TCF portal. Once the correction is made at the source, the Sirdata CMP will automatically display the new information after the next GVL update
